How To Revamp Your Income
Have you ever been riding high on your income one minute and then the next, you realized you were on the verge of financial emergency? The fact is that this happens to virtually everyone and usually more than once. I want to teach you how to get back on the horse and increase your income to heights never before seen.
First of all, we need to ask ourselves, if you were winning financially, what happened? How do you go from abundance to emergency that fast? You were doing something right at some point.
Here is what I believe; you stopped doing what worked and you violated the laws that got you there in the first place. Often times in my business when I meet with clients who are going through this, they thought they were doing better than they were and ultimately stopped doing what worked. They may have been earning more money than ever, saving, and doing all the right thing, but because of a financial emergency they now feel broke and desperate again (which I don’t believe is a bad thing by the way). This can happen at all levels until you truly are financially independent. Until then, anything can be lost in an instance. The economy has proven this over and over again.
So now you’re in a vulnerable financial position and trying to figure out what to do, right? Like I said, we have all been here.
Here is what you do.
Stop doing what you’ve been doing recently. It doesn’t work and it is what caused you to be in the position you’re in. You can’t keep doing the same things and hoping the situation. You need to get results and fast. Stop managing, organizing, and doing things that don’t produce income.
Next, you need to get the income up and fast. See, this is a combination of cutting out any activity that will not produce income and instead focusing on activities that are proven to generate income.
This is not the time for new ideas. Go back to what is proven. If you sold real estate successfully, go back to that thing. If you sold insurance, go sell more insurance. The reason your income dropped is simply because you lost track of what works and began to focus on things that weren’t proven.
In this moment, you should be calling literally everyone you can get into communication with. Friends, family, co-workers, old acquaintances. You name it! Call them and reconnect. It doesn’t matter if you think they’ll be interested or not, you need people to see and talk to. In fact, in the position you’re in here, a bad appointment is better than no appointment. A bad phone call is better than no phone call. Just get it out and make it happen. You should be hitting triple digits daily in the amount of people you are contacting.
Next, fill your calendar! Like cram it! Double book yourself. Work too early. Work too late. Just get appointments on the books. You need meetings and it doesn’t matter when, where, or how. I’m talking back to back to back appointments, non stop. You’ll miss meals, tv shows, other appointments. But you will have a full pipeline.
Pitch an offer to everyone you talk to. Don’t just meet to meet. There is no production there. Put a service or product in front of everyone you talk to and ask for a decision. Worst case scenario is they say no. “No’ doesn’t mean you’re pushy, or they’re mad at you, or that you can’t talk to them again. It just means no. And if someone does get mad at you for trying to sell something, they are not on your side (or their own side for that matter) to begin with. You need income, not positive opinions and to be liked.
Always ask for referrals. When you talk to someone, always ask for referrals. If they can’t buy, they know someone who can. If they can buy, they know someone who would also like your service. Just ask “who are the first two people you think of”?
Sustain the activity. After a week or two, you’ll begin feeling “burnt out”. But the fact is, you’re about to hit your second wind. If you can sustain this for several weeks and then into several months, you’ll be amazed at the results you’re producing.
Now, there will come a point where you’ll feel like you’re winning again and you don’t need to do the work anymore. This is what happened last time. You quit too early or put your attention on other things too soon. Then you crashed. Don’t do that again. Just because you feel safe doesn’t mean you are. Keep grinding until you know you’re untouchable.
