The Top 5 Money Books That Made Me Rich

I am an avid believer that a good book can change someone’s life.

As a kid, I was an avid reader and I read way above my age level (despite that, I liked to rock Dr. Suess books well into 4th grade simply because I enjoyed them more lol).

But from the age of 12 to 18 I basically didn’t read at all simply because I was being told I had to read by teachers at school and I had no interest in the books that were assigned to me.

It wasn’t until I began to learn about personal finances that my interest in reading was rekindled. I was at a networking meeting and a guy who was making $400,000 per year and was a millionaire several times over asked me what I was listening to and what I was reading. And my answer was “nothing”. I can tell you, I don’t know if I’ve felt dumber in my life because I knew he was reading books and listening to growth material.

Right then and there he recommended 1 book to me and 1 audio.

If you don’t know me personally, I’ll let you in on a secret. I’m really good at listening to people who are more successful than me. I knew he was more successful than me so I went home and began reading the book and I listened to the audio he recommended. And right then and there my life began to change.

Right now, I want you to pretend that you and I are together in a networking meeting just like I was. I’m 32 years old, a millionaire, a 7-figure business owner, and financially independent and right now I am asking you “what are you reading and what are you listening to?”

If your answer is “nothing” I’m not going to judge you because I had that same answer at one time. But I am going to let you know that improving your intellect and mindset is one of the most important and valuable habits you need to build if you’re serious about achieving financial independence. And I want to help you do that.

Here are my top books and resources on finances and wealth building that changed the way I think forever. Enjoy!

1. As a Man Thinketh by James Allen. This is a short book and it’s one of the first ones I read. It isn’t exclusively about finances, but wealth happens in the mind first and it’s very applicable.

2. The Strangest Secret by Earl Nightingale. This is another mindset book. Mindset is such a big key that I think it’s senior to financial knowledge. I could recommend personal finance books galore, but if someone doesn’t have the right mindset, they’re not going to build wealth.

3. Becoming Your Owner Banker by Nelson Nash. This is an introduction to a concept on how to get rid of banks from your life. Instead of paying interest on your dollars, you recapture it. Instead of someone else making money on your deposits, you can. This is one of the single most powerful concepts I’ve ever learned regarding finances and I use it daily now.

4. The Hidden Secrets of Money by Mike Maloney. This is actually a free video series on YouTube or you can get access to it as part of the Precious Metals course I have in my Financial Training Platform, Wealth DynamX University. This is a 5- or 6-part series, but it gave me the basics about money that I never learned even as a financial advisor and forever changed the way I view money.

5. The Gospel of Wealth by Andrew Carnegie. Andrew Carnegie is one of my favorite historical figures. He not only built some of the most beautiful cities in America, such as Chicago, but he was a true Philanthropist at heart. His book changed the reason I was building wealth in the first place. There is some old English in there but take your time and soak it in because this book will change you life.

I would study these books, not just read them. Take notes. Have a dictionary with you to look words up. Keep a sketchpad and a pen by your side so that you can draw out some of the concepts you’re learning and begin to apply them better. And if you have any life changing realizations or new concepts as you’re learning, please write to my office and let me know!

In closing, my mission in life is to help good people build more wealth who make the world a better place.
